How to calculate text size

1. Paste the text you want to measure into the Text field.
2. Read the Size result below the input.
3. Add, remove, or replace text to compare the new result.
4. Keep the final text and its displayed unit together when recording your measurement.

For a simple example, entering Hello displays 5 B. Spaces and line breaks are also part of the input, so copying an extra blank line can change the result. When comparing two versions, paste the complete text of each version and check for invisible spacing left at the beginning or end.

Understand the measurement

Text size describes a data amount. It is different from the font size on a page, the visible width of a paragraph, or the number of words in a document. Larger text amounts can be displayed using larger units such as KB or MB. Always read the unit shown with the value.

A saved document can contain formatting, metadata, images, and other material beyond its readable text. This calculator measures the text supplied in its input; do not use that result as a guaranteed file size for a Word document, PDF, attachment, or compressed download. For an application with a strict limit, confirm the final result in that application too.

How can I prepare text before measuring?
